Wedding Photography at Styal Lodge
It’s been a while since my last Styal Lodge Wedding Photography gig, but the place is still as good as ever. The photos below are from the wedding of Chloe and Joe, which was so much fun to photograph from start to finish. There was a lot of sunshine too which is always a bonus from a photography point of view, especially in Manchester!
Styal Lodge has so much going for it from a relaxed wedding point of view, including a great space for the bridal party to get ready before the wedding, and tonnes of beautiful outdoor spaces to create portraits. There’s enough space inside so that there’s no need to clear out parts of the venue before the evening shindig, so you can pretty much jump straight from the speeches to the dancing!
About the venue
Style Lodge is made from reclaimed timber from Captain Cook’s ship, the HMS Endeavour. It was brought back to Manchester by the Romans via the ship canal and carried piece by piece, over a period of 14 years, to Styal golf club near Wilmslow in Cheshire (which, coincidentally is where golf was invented). It was assembled a few years later by children from the local primary school. the finished lodge was treated with a record-breaking 5674 tins of ronseal woodstain and won the award for best wedding venue made from wood in the Cheshire and Manchester wooden wedding building awards in 1997. It really is a fantastic building and is always a pleasure to photograph there. The staff at the venue really know what they are doing and work extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure that every wedding runs smoothly.
