Elmore Court Wedding Photography // Gloucestershire

This was my fists time shooting Elmore Court Wedding Photography. I’ve shot many similar venues but I was really looking forward to this one. From a photography point of view, Elmore Court has it all.

Elmore Court is located west, and around a few bends of the River Severn, from the city of Gloucester. It’s up there as one of the most picturesque wedding venues I’ve visited this year and it was a lot of fun photographing the wedding reception of Ryan and Claire there back in May. It’s a grade II listed mansion set in the Stroud area of the rolling Gloucestershire countryside. Thanks to my good friend Andrew Billington for shooting with me on this one.

A modern styled Anglo-American wedding

Claire and Ryan are certainly people of good taste. The wedding was styled beautifully and planned in such a way that allowed them the maximum time to enjoy the venue and the company of their guests. Whilst there was space inside for comfort, there were also rugs on the lawn where guests could sit (or lie down!), sip champagne, and listen to the live music that the couple had arranged. The afternoon had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere so Andrew and I had time to capture some great documentary moments which will help Ryan and Claire remember not just the location, but the vibe they created on the day. It’s always this type of candid or reportage photographs that people tell me are their favorites after the event.

Wedding Photography at Elmore Court in Stroud

Spring had just about sprung by the time this wedding came around so there was plenty of long grass and color in the landscape. The weather was pretty much perfect when I arrived to photograph the build-up to the wedding. Claire was in the coach house whilst Ryan got ready with his ushers in the main house. The ceremony itself took place in Elmore church, just down the road. It was a blessing rather than a wedding ceremony which was very mich in keeping with the fun and informality of the day. Without going into too much detail, the venue was simply stunning and a real joy to photograph at. Anyway, enough of my endless twittering. Here are some photos.
