Update: Feedback from my 2018 TWIA entry:
On our wedding day, Steven was absolutely fantastic. He guided us at the beginning and during the day, but most of the time you couldn’t even tell the camera was there. The quality and range of photos we’ve received are brilliant and exactly what we wanted. Steven really managed to capture the full story of the day and made everyone involved feel really comfortable.
Steve is a true artist. Quality photographs are a given but Steve stands out for his inginuity, creativity and instinctive talent for the perfect photos which really capture the moment and tell a story. Couple this with the great customer service and the fact he’s a nice guy makes him a truly top operator. Perhaps the best compliment is that we were able to enjoy our wedding with Steve operating in the background yet still delivering us exceptional photos which we will remember forever.
Steven Rooney is a truly incredible and extremely talented photographer! From initial contact to recieving the final gallery of photos, everything was very professional, yet personal and we were made to feel like he was a good friend! His abilty to capture so many special, unscripted moments was also amazing. We never felt like we were being followed with a camera or having to pose for hundreds of photos, which is exactly what we wanted, yet he managed to capture our day exactly as we wanted it.
We are so happy we booked Steven for our wedding. He has impressed us through the whole process from booking to receiving our images just a few weeks after the wedding. We especially liked chatting through our plans with him on Skype. On the day, Steven blended into the background and captured some brilliant, candid, magical and personal shots of our friends and family that we would’ve missed. The photos of the two of us are really special and unique, and take us straight back to our big day
It’s fair to say that the photographs that Steven captured made out wedding. In terms of the shots that he got of our day, we were utterly blown away. He exceeded all our expectations and his professionalism, advice and personality meant we could really relax on the day as we knew he would have it all in hand. My wife and I were so happy with the pictures he took it our day. He really is a credit to his industry.
Steven Rooney was exactly what we wanted from our wedding photographer – he captured the atmosphere from the day perfectly. Each picture looks like a dramatic shot from a film, we were thrilled with the results. He gave great direction when needed for the group shots, but everything else was unposed, which means we have true memories to look back on, rather than stiff, posed portraits. We’re so happy we picked him as our photographer – no-one else would have done a better job.
Steve was very discrete & sometimes you forgot he was there,which was fantastic as everyone on the photos look relaxed,happy&natural.We’d seen a sneak preview of the images before he’d left the wedding which made us even more excited about the end result.Our pics are unbelievable,best EVER. SR is by far the best photographer I have ever come across & even now I haven’t seen any wedding pictures that come close to rival ours, I work with many photographers &even they have been in awe of his work!
Honestly the way Steve has managed to capture our special day can not be put into words. From beginning to end he was honestly incredible to work with. We decided against a wedding video, which I thought I may regret but after seeing the photos he has taken. I now see there was no need for one. He hasn’t just captured a day or a moment, but capture the feelings and emotions of every one of our wedding guests and it’s truest magical what he is able to do as a photographer.
As a keen photography enthusiast I did a lot of research when choosing our photographer. I knew I’d be hard to please when it came to the photos and was anxious about this. I didn’t want a “traditional” formal look to my photos but there are a lot of folks out there that just lazily stick a soft, Instagram looking filter over their work which is likely to look very dated in a few years. It took me a lot of searching to find Steve. He is a truly gifted photographer.
A wonderful man who slipped into the background of our wedding effortlessly and took the most beautiful photographs. He has captured expressions I’ve never seen on my face before and moments that will be special forever!
We are really happy with Steven’s photos, they capture our wedding superbly. He was very easy to work with and had some great ideas on shots to take and how to make the most of the people and the setting. On the day itself he was very discrete and accommodating, ensuring all family members felt fully involved in all photos. Really nice to work with, made the whole process a joy. Would highly recommend, love his work!
Steven greatly exceeded our expectations, from us selling this wedding to him to the finished product he was always on board with our idea, he knew what we wanted and he delivered. He was almost invisible most of the day. Beavering away photographing delicate moments we had already forgotten about. His warmth and openness left us feeling like a friend had left when he had gone. He’s given us something beautiful to treasure forever and we will always be in his debt. Obviously highly recommended .
Steven has a clear style of vision, he is very creative and bases his images around the story of the day and captures big moments from all interesting angles. Steven does the usual group photo’s but steers clear of the cheesy ones (just how we wanted it). We enjoyed our day and let Steven snap away, most of the time we didn’t know he was there. The final images were absolutely breath taking, we would like to thank Steven from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so special.
It’s really difficult to describe how much we loved Steven’s coverage of our wedding day, from the carefully curated short slideshow, through to the thorough documentation of magical moments throughout the day! We knew that Steven was great at his job from all the images we looked through and the research we did before booking… but honestly, Steven’s ability to capture moments in an artistic way that truly reflected the day is quite unbelievable! We are quite picky customers and we are thrilled!

Steve was incredible at catching the magic and the realism of our wedding day. He managed to catch an incredible shot of us walking in front of a billboard on Kensington High Street with the tag line, “Commit to something”. We couldn’t have constructed a better shot! Our wedding pictures will be cherished for the rest of our lives and we are so grateful for Steve’s skill, artistry and professionalism.
Steven was absolutely amazing. He understood what we wanted from the photographs from the very start and made that an easy option. He supplied an additional photographer for me who was also super. He captured some of the most beautiful pictures from the day and we will cherish them forever. His style is very different and quirky and not your standard wedding photography which is exactly what we wanted. He also completely blended into the crowd and not once did I or anyone else notice him.
We chose Steve Rooney because of his brilliant ability to catch people “in the moment”. We didn’t want to pose for loads of photos on our wedding day wasting precious time with family and friends who we rarely get to se yet alone when they are all in one place at one time! Steve has the eye to spot a quirky picture opportunity wether it be your reflection in a puddle or the haze on a cold morning he can utilise the weather and the surrounding to give you a great collection of photos.
Steve was absolutely brilliant, we are so happy he photographed our wedding. Steve is very creative, producing beautiful shots. Our engagement photos were stunning so we were very relaxed at our wedding, knowing we were in safe hands. Steve was also the most efficient photographer we’ve ever seen for getting lovely group shots in minimal time, leaving more time for creative portrait and documentary shots. Steve did not disappoint, our wedding photos are amazing! He’s also a lovely guy.
Steven just ‘got it’ when we explained what we wanted from our wedding & our pictures. He explained that he would be like a ninja with his documentary style photos – something that you never truly believe – but he was true to his word. How he got such incredible shots without really being noticed is something I’ll never really understand. He is a ridiculously talented man and we’re glad that we chose him to document our day as I could happily stare at the photos he produced for eternity.
Steven was absolutely brilliant before, after and particularly during our wedding. He fit right into the fun but purposeful vibe and felt like a friendly guest, who just happened to be an excellent photographer. We were delighted with the results- we wanted something special but couldn’t quite define what, and Steven delivered in spades.
Well, another year has passed and once again I was shortlisted for ‘Best Wedding Photographer’ in the North West, an award that I was over the moon to take home last year. I’ve just seen the feedback and scores from the voting and I’m completely overwhelmed by the love shown by the couples who I photographed over the past twelve months.
I’m absolutely blown away by this and happy that my hard work has paid off in the form of very happy clients. Thank you one an all for your feedback and for trusting in me to document you big day. If you’re happy, I’m happy.
