Chateau le Mas de Montet Wedding Photography
A week before I photographed their wedding at Chateau Le Mas de Montet, Carl and Madina spent a wonderfully chilled and intimate afternoon in Norwich. They had their legal wedding at Norwich Castle before an afternoon tea at The Ivy. This was a great opportunity for me to meet them and their close families before heading out to Perigord for the main event. A short flight and a quick drive from Bordeaux and I was at the gates of the Chateau. Now, I expected it to be nice, of course. Madina and Carl have impeccable taste. But I was well and truly blown away by the grandeur and beauty of this venue. Couple that with ane extremely lovely and down to earth couple who clearly dig each other and the scene was set for a truly brilliant destination wedding.
Chateau Le Mas de Montet – The build-up to the wedding
I arrived the evening before the wedding to meet up with everyone and photograph a little pre-wedding gin reception. And to shoot a few frames with our couple around the grounds of the Chateau. There were great locations for photographs in every direction. From the tree-lined avenue to the arboretum, to the many textured and ivy-covered walls of the main Chateau. Not to mention the glorious sunshine associated with the south of France.
The wedding day from a photographer’s perspective.
I might sound like a broken record, but wedding photography is really about people and the people at this wedding were responsible for making this occasion truly magical.
Madina and Carl got ready in separate areas of the venue with their respective bridesmaids, pageboys and flower girls and I was able to move between the two, covering both sides of the story from early on. It was a very bright and very hot sunny day. In fact, we had record-breaking temperatures for the time of year, getting up to about 40C. The ceremony took place in the shade of a tree in front of the Chateau and the theme of staying in the shade continued for most of the day.
The wedding breakfast was at the rear of the venue in the gardens next to the pool, which some guests used to cool down of course!
All in all, this was a fantastic day, superbly envisioned by Madina and Carl and planned and executed to perfection by Amy Fear for Marry Me in France. If you’re looking for a Chateau le Mas de Montet Wedding Photography, please get in touch!
