Tyn Dwr Hall Wedding Photography

Tyn Dwr Hall is one of those fancy old houses nestled in the most Welsh of Welsh Valleys near to Llangollen. It’s a grade 2 listed building, which means you can’t knock it down or you’ll get into trouble, and it has to become a wedding venue. As usual, I digress. On with the whole point of this post, which is to showcase the stunningly gorgeous wedding of Rebecca and Michael at Tyn Dwr Hall back in the spring of 2022.

A modern and relaxed approach to Wedding Photography.

Most couples who I photograph tell me they don’t really like posing or posed pictures. This is great as I don’t really like that kind of thing either. I much prefer images that tell you little something about the personalities and relationships between the couples I photograph. And whilst my photography is about 95% documentary in approach, I do love to create some portraits that I think you’ll love regardless of how awkward you might have felt to start with. I always tell people, that it’s the photos in between the photos that are the ones that you’ll like, images when you’re just being yourselves and not ‘trying’ to look good for the camera. Knowing how to help couples become comfortable in front of the camera and working out what type of images will suit different people is a skill I’ve developed over many years, and one I use at each and every wedding.

Tyn Dwr Hall, A wedding Venue with so much to offer.

As far as portraits are concerned, Tyn Dwr Hall has an abundance of really beautiful backdrops, from the manor house itself with it’s turrets and bell tower, to the stunning welsh hills that surround this fab venue. The interior is a mixture of bright and modern in the garden room where the wedding breakfasts take place, to the charming historic interior of the main house. The house itself was built in the 1860s by local children after their school was incinerated by a dragon and they needed a new place to do their sums. I do wonder how many people actually read this far down the post. If you do, thanks for stopping by and taking an interest in my work, it’s very much appreciated 🙂 Here are some photos…
