Thornton Manor Wedding Photography

Great to have the chance to do a bit of Thornton Manor Wedding Photography again!

Sally and Chi were married in the very beautiful setting Thornton Manor which is located in Thornton Hough on the Wirral. Such a great venue in a very picturesque part of the North-West close to Liverpool. It boasts a big old mansion of a manor house, extensive grounds, a couple of lakes, a few old barns, and quite a lot of trees. I’m waffling now but apparently, these posts need to be at least 300 words, so bear with me.

Door Games organised by the Bridesmaids in Thornton Hough

They got ready at Thornton Hall Hotel where the Bridesmaids organised the door games for Chi and his ushers. I have to say, It’s a lot of fun to photograph grown men eating wasabi paste, having piggy back races, drinking vinegar and eating a bag of crisps in less than a minute. It certainly beats photographing people standing around drinking champagne! Once Chi had proved himself worthy and paid a handsome sum of cash to the bridesmaids he was allowed to have Sally’s hand in marriage. Sally changed from her red Chinese dress to her white wedding dress at this point.

Arrival at Thornton Manor

Thornton Manor Wedding Photography is always a pleasure. There’s tons of space and different areas on the estate that are used for weddings. Sally and Chi were married at the Lakeside Marquee on what was the hottest day of the year. From there the party spilled out into the gardens before the Chinese tea ceremony, speeches, toasts and wedding breakfast.

In the summer the best light is usually much later on in the evening. But on a clear day it’s really worth waiting for. A few portraits and it was on to dancing and partying the night away.
