As I write this I’m still a little jet lagged after a family break and shooting a wedding in Bangkok. But 28 hour journeys sure give a man a little time to reflect, at least when the kids are asleep. It wasn’t until a couple of days in that Sally and I realised how much we needed some time off, and how much we have accomplished this year. I’ve enjoyed shooting many different kinds of weddings in 7 different countries, and Sally has had huge success with our photobooth business Smileomatic, winning the Regional Finals of the Wedding Industry awards and getting the chance to go to London as a national Finalist. Whilst paying the bills by doing what we love is a great achievement, it’s only a means to an end. The real reward comes in the form of 3 happy children and a home full of love and laughter that, most importantly, we have time to enjoy. In our hallway we have a sign that says ‘Happy children and tired parents live here’. It couldn’t be more true. zzzzzzzz

Wedding Photography in 2017

I’ve shot a whole load of weddings this year and I’m pleased to say that each and every one has been unique and brilliant. From the couples themselves, to their friends and families, as well as the numerous other wedding professionals I’ve bumped into along the way, I’m lucky to have a job where I get to see the best of people week in, week out. So thanks to each and every one of my couples for trusting me with this important job and going along with my crazy ideas!

Top 10 Fearless Photographer in the World and Number 1 in the UK for a second year!

What a whirlwind of a year! It started off by landing a spot in the top 10 wedding photographers in the world according to Fearless Photographers. Followed shortly by being named in a list of the 5 best wedding photojournalists in the UK according to MyMemory. Later in the year I made it to the lists of top 10 Uk Wedding photographers according to Wedding Photography Select; Top 20 photographers in the world according to Hongkiat; Top 50 Wedding Photographers in the Uk according to GoHen and Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World according to Bride Advisor. In addition to this I ran 4 workshops in Manchester, London and Birmingham relating to creative photography, editing and off camera flash. I’m really looking forward to delivering a few more which are already planned in for 2018 (link in menu)
