Wedding Photography at Almonry Barn
I’m so glad that Anja and Will booked me for their Almonry Barn Wedding Photography. They really were my kind of couple. Laid back, stylish and a lot of fun. They wanted their wedding to be a laid back summer celebration, which suited my down to the ground. Almonry Barn is a Scheduled Ancient Monument (the same historical league as Stonehenge) and was built more than 800 years ago! Historically it was part of the Abbey across the road and was used my the monks who lived there.
Anja got ready in a cottage down the road, where the couple also spent the next couple of days with family. And she brought a bit of London (where she and Will live) with her arriving at the barn in a black cab.
There was a lot of emotion in the air as Anja arrived and the wedding took place. But soon afterwards the nerves dissipated and the partying began.
Almonry Barn Wedding Photography
I had been looking forward to this wedding for some time for many reasons. But having seen the venue on a previous reconnaissance mission I knew how good it was going to look. The ceremony took place upstairs in the barn and the wedding spilled out into the grounds of the barn which is such a beautiful space with apple trees, a swing for the children (or adults) and lots of space to relax and play. But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s not the venue that makes the story, but the people involved. And with such a lovely and lively bunch I had plenty to photograph.
The reception took place inside the barn which was decorated and styled by many people including Anja’s Mum who arranged most of the flowers. The styling certainly complimented the rustic charm of this stunning venue.
Congratulations to a great couple on a great wedding!
