I first met Coral and Tom for their engagement shoot at the baltic triangle in Liverpool ahead of their summer wedding at Meols Hall in Southport. It was a really lovely day. A relaxed celebration for this great couple.
A beautiful summer wedding at the Tithe Barn
Meols Hall is as rustic as it gets when it comes to barn weddings. Whilst it’s technically a barn, this venue somehow manages to outclass many barn venues with its charm and romantic feel. Meols Hall is situated next to the village of Churchtown in Southport, which is handy for a pre-wedding drink at either the Bold or the Hesketh Arms.
Always impeccably well managed and organized, weddings at Meols Hall are pretty much perfect in every way. And if you’re lucky enough to have your wedding on a bright and sunny day, the grounds are difficult to beat. From a photography point of view, the venue has the best of interesting buildings, well-kept gardens, and natural wild grass and wooded areas. Personally, I love the long grass in the summer and the way that it catches the light in the evening.
Over the years I must have shot 20 or more weddings at this venue and each one has been different. The way the venue changes with the seasons means that there’s always something new and interesting to photograph. And even though I’m really familiar with the place, I’m always excited to go back and see how the place looks and what new ideas I can come up with.
Here are a few frames from Coral and Tom’s wedding in the Tithe Barn.
