Hybrid Wedding Photo and Video Coverage

Hybrid coverage has evolved over the past few years as the cameras I use have become as much a video camera as a stills camera. So i thought, well, why not do both! If you choose hybrid coverage you’ll have 2 shooters, both covering photos and video clips throughout the day. You’ll receive a full set of images and a 3 to 4 minute highlight film set to licensed music (sorry, we can’t use mainstream music)

I’ll be honest—I’m not a videographer. You won’t find me lurking in the bushes with a massive camera or making you do a slow-motion walk while staring into the distance. I’m a photographer who also happens to make highlight films—natural, fun, and totally you. My photography is creative, so the films follow suit.

Every wedding is different, and so is every film and every set of photos. Some are fast-paced and full of energy, some are emotional and cinematic, and some are a glorious mix of both. It all depends on your day, your vibe, and how it all unfolds (because let’s be honest, no one really knows what’s going to happen when Uncle Dave hits the dance floor).

Now, a quick disclaimer: I don’t film full ceremonies or speeches. Why? Because I’m here to tell a story, not to record every single second like a CCTV camera. If you’re after a full-length wedding documentary, I know some amazing videographers who can do that for you. But if you want something creative, heartfelt, and packed with the best bits—I’ve got you.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to make you an awesome film without you even noticing I’m filming. No pressure, no posing—just real moments, real memories, and maybe a few dodgy dance moves.

So if you’re after a short film to music to remember your day as well as a great set of photos, all from the same ‘eye’ then hybrid coverage could be for you. There are some great advantages to hybrid coverage that I’ve outlined below…

Advantages of Hybrid Wedding Photography and Videography

  • No need for more people than necessary following you around all day!
  • All edited by the same person (me) for a consistent take on your wedding
  • It’s cheaper than getting a dedicated videographer
  • No constant posing and re-doing things for the video, my video coverage is mostly documentary
  • You get a short video to remember the day so no sitting through hours of boring footage!
