Chateau de Castellaras Wedding Photography
It was a great adventure traveling to the French Riviera to be Benil and Will’s Chateau de Castellaras wedding photographer. And a real pleasure to meet up with my friend and fellow wedding photographer Tibo and his lovely family, who put me up for a couple of days in Antibes. It’s a really beautiful part of the world which I would love to explore further in the future. So if you’re getting married in this area give me a call!
Benil and Will live in London and had already had their civil marriage. So this wedding was a humanist type ceremony conducted by their friend Alastair, whose wedding to Jess I photographed a few years ago in Shropshire. I always love this kind of wedding as there’s no set structure or format. This means that the wedding service can be more personal and meaningful as well as having the advantage of being able to have the wedding wherever you like, indoors or out. Although recent changes to some stuffy old rules mean that couples in the UK having civil ceremonies could soon be allowed to get married wherever they like too.
A French Chateau Wedding
Chateau de Castellaras is not your typical Franch Chateau. It’s actually a relatively modern place. It was built in 1927 and forms the centre of a larger complex called Castellaras le Vieux comprising around 80 villas with pools and tennis courts for residents. The view from the back yard looks out over Mougins and further to the Mediterranean sea.
The wedding itself took place in a shaded courtyard on the west side of the Chateau and the party spread out through the grounds. Benil and Will were so great to work with, wanting only a few portraits and for me to concentrate on the story of the day by capturing real moments as they unfold. It was a brilliant day, enjoyed by all and I’m sure one that will go down in their family history. Anyway, that’s enough keyword waffle from me. Oh, and if you’re planning a destination wedding at this incredible venue, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
Congratulations to Benil and Will and thanks so much for booking me as your Chateau de Castellaras Wedding Photographer!
